Our Classes
Welcome to the Year 4
The adults in Year 4 are Miss Flynn (class teacher) and Miss Duddle.
PE days are on a Wednesday (PE coach – Mr Pearson) and a Thursday (Miss Flynn). Children are to come to school in the correct PE kit on these days. If children have a sports club after school, they can also come to school in their PE kit.
On Mondays we invite parents to school to join us in our Celebration Assembly. We celebrate our Pupils’ of the Week, where Miss Flynn will choose those pupils who have really impressed with their learning, attitude or behaviour. Pupils can also bring in any of their celebrations from home, such as football trophies, dance certificates and any other exciting achievements. Miss Bingham, our head teacher, will also give out rewards for those children with Merit Awards.
Friday’s are also a day for celebrating in school; our Character Education rewards, Remarkable Readers and our time’s table challenge.
Homework is also given on a Friday to be completed by the following Friday. This includes a short Math’s task, reading and spellings.
The multiplication tables check (MTC) is statutory for all year 4 pupils to complete at the end of the year. So the more practice on TTRockstars the more fluent the children will become in their times tables.
In Year 4, the children will have a variety of opportunities to broaden their horizons and take part in some fantastic events. This year we have currently booked a Viking to visit in Spring 1 and Strawberry picking in Summer 2; focussing on our Geography topic of International trade.
