Music

At Spindle Point we believe that a thriving music curriculum inspires and motivates pupils. It is a vehicle for personal expression and is a highly social activity. Music at Spindle Point provides children with new and exciting experiences within school and within the community.

The children will explore music through our school curriculum. Our children have the opportunity to learn two instruments: the descant recorder and the clarinet. Many of our children chose to continue with additional music lessons learning the violin, clarinet or flute.

The school works closely with the Greater Manchester Music Hub, Bolton Music Service and Trust Music to take part in Hub events, Bolton Schools’ music festival and attend events at The Bridgewater Hall and Bolton Albert Halls. Children enjoy opportunities to perform in assemblies, in Christmas nativities and Carol Services and at the school arts evening. The school is working towards its next Artsmark accreditation with an aim to achieve Silver accreditation.
