Links to Sunning Hill Primary
Spindle Point Primary School has established a very effective link with Sunning Hill Primary School in Bolton.
Our Year 3 and Year 4 children meet up with the two Year 3 classes several times a year. The children enjoy a range of activities together and visit each other schools to find out more about cultures different from their own.
Activities have included sports, visits to the Mosque, a Brazilian Carnival and a Mobile Farm. The children exchange information through treasure boxes and letters.

Spindle Point is part of a cluster of 10 primary schools (in Kearsley and Little Lever) that work collaboratively to secure good outcomes for children.
As well as organising joint professional development opportunities, teachers meet up regularly to share ideas and good practices. Throughout the year a number of inter-school activities are arranged including sports competitions, events and fundraising.
The cluster operates a programme of special learning events for identified children who show a particular skill or aptitude in an aspect of the curriculum; for example, gymnastics, art, forensic science, local history, and music.
